Registered childminders provide quality care and education to children in Norfolk and the conference was another wonderful opportunity for them to build on their knowledge and skills and to show that childminders are so dedicated to their work that they are even prepared to study at weekends!

The highlight of the event was to have the well-known author and Early Childhood Specialist Jennie Lindon as the keynote speaker. Her impressive speech on the emotional environment for young children’s learning held the audience spellbound and Jennie also held workshops which were a sell out!

As well as Jennie’s highly popular workshops there were another three workshops to help and support childminders with such diverse subjects as treasure baskets and story sacks linking to the Early Years Foundation Stage, practical observation of children and showcasing your childminding business and delegates also had the opportunity to buy all types of resources from books to very large puppets.

The day was nicely rounded off with a superb prize draw, which, when coupled with an excellent lunch and a useful bag of goodies to take home, brought the general agreement that it was an excellent day, leaving childminders eagerly anticipating the 2009 event.
