East Norfolk Childminding Cluster

The aim of the East Cluster of the Norfolk Childminding Network is to provide high quality registered childcare to everyone in East Norfolk. The Network Childminders are recruited and assessed for their knowledge and good working practice and meet the National Childminding Association's "Children come first" Quality Childminding Standards.. By meeting these standards they are working over and above the National Standards set by OFSTED. Approved Network Childminders are then monitored regularly every 8 to 10 weeks, including unannounced visits, to ensure the high quality of childcare is maintained. These visits are in addition to OFSTED's inspection visits. Several of our childminders have the qualification NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and accredited childminders provide Early Education Places for 3 and 4 year olds, funded by the Nursery Education Scheme.

East Norfolk Childminding Cluster covers Martham, Caister, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Hopton, Bradwell & Belton and Acle Children centre areas. The Norfolk Childminding Network is funded and supported by Norfolk County Council.

Our Network Support Meetings are either held daytime or evening details of which can be found on our newsletters available at our Children’s Centers in the East Area. Daytime meetings focus on activities for the children around Birth to Three Matters and the Foundation Stage and the forthcoming Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Evening meetings concentrate on current issues, training and on occasions Early Years Support Teachers and guest speakers are invited to attend. Please contact me for details.

We are working with local agencies to offer sponsored childcare & mentoring places to teenage parents and private places to children of parents who are working, studying or who need time to themselves. We aim to provide support, education and care to all young children and their families.
