Child Care In Norfolk Introducing Childminding Practice

Child Care In Norfolk Child Care In Norfolk This qualification was designed to meet specific statutory requirements for home-based childcare practitioners seeking childminding registration and registration on the Voluntary Childcare Register.

Training Provider: Childminding Matters
Cost: Free

Course length: A seven-week period, consisting of 6 evenings and a Saturday. 19 hours in total.
Week 1 7pm - 9pm
Weeks 2 – 6 7pm-9.30pm
Week 7 9.30am - 2pm

You can also choose to attend another short session (1 hour) to undertake the multiple choice question paper. On completion of an optional multiple-choice paper, candidates will achieve Unit 1 of the Diploma in Home-based Childcare

Course content:

• Establishing a safe and healthy childcare environment in a home-based setting
• Establishing routines for home-based childcare
• Providing play and other activities for children in a home-based setting
• Introducing children and their families to your childcare service
• Managing children's behaviour in the home-based setting
• Inclusion and anti-bias practice
• Child protection in the home-based setting
• Starting a home-based childcare service.
The course will consist of a mixture of group activities, discussion and scenarios and it will give the participants the opportunity to share ideas and experiences.

Additional Information: Standard 1.4 of the National Day Care Standards for Childminders requires Childminders to complete this course within 6 months of becoming a registered childminder.
